Here are a few things you need to know about mirrors:

1. They are the best way to bring a funky frame into your space. A mirror doesn't compete with the busy frame- it just lets it be.

2. Not all mirrors are created equal. If you really want to see yourself, invest in a good mirror. Bates Art Services only uses 1/4" optically true mirrors for all of our installations. It may be my insecurities talking, but why would I want a wavy mirror making me look "wavier?"

3. NEVER hang a mirror by wire. Some framed mirrors come with hooks on the back. These are not meant to have a wire. Framed mirrors are heavy and the wire puts too much stress on the frame. Either hang the mirror from the hooks themselves or better yet, use an aluminum cleat.
